1And the word of the LORD came to me, saying.2Son of Adam, set your face toward the mountains of Israel and prophesy to them.3And you shall say, "Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD: Thus says the Lord GOD to the mountains and to the hills, to the ravines and to the valleys: Behold, I, even I, am bringing a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places."4And your altars will be laid waste, and your sun-stands will be broken, and I will cast down your slain before your idols.5And I will lay the corpses of the Israelites before their idols, and I will scatter your bones around your altars.6In all your settlements the cities will be laid waste, and the high places will be laid waste, in order that your altars may be laid waste and they may be guilty, and your altars may be broken and cease, and your idols may be cut down and your sun-images may be wiped out—your deeds.7And the slain will fall in your midst, and you will know that I am the LORD.8And I will leave survivors of the sword for you when you are among the nations, when you are scattered in the lands.9And your survivors will remember me among the nations where they are taken captive, where I was broken by their prostituting heart that turned aside from me, and their prostituting eyes that followed their idols, and they will loathe themselves for the evils that they did for all their abominations.10And they will know that I, the LORD, did not speak in vain to do this evil to them.11Thus says the Lord GOD: Strike with your palm and stamp with your foot and say, "Alas for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel, which by sword, by famine, and by pestilence they will fall."12The one far away will die by plague, the one nearby will fall by the sword, and the remaining one and the besieged one will die by famine, and I will complete my wrath on them.13And you shall know that I am the LORD, when their slain are there in the midst of their idols around their altars, to every high hill, at all the heads of the mountains, and under every lush tree, and under every thick terebinth, every place where they gave there a pleasing aroma to all their idols.14And I will stretch out my hand against them and make the land a desolation and a waste from the wilderness of Diblah in all their dwelling places, and they will know that I am the LORD.
